Phased resumption of routine visa services at United States Consulates and Embassies is announced

On July 14, 2020, the United States Department of State (DOS) announced the phased resumption of routine visa services. The DOS originally suspended visa services worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S. Embassies and Consulates continue to provide visa services due to an emergency or for mission critical reasons.

The resumption of routine visa services at the Consulates and Embassies will depend on the specific situation of each locality and on the necessary regulations to protect the health of employees and the public. The mission of the DOS is to gradually provide additional visa services and to complete full resumption of all routine visa services.

There is no specific date as to when all visa services will be resumed, therefore it is necessary to observe the instructions of each consulate and embassy.
